WHY A FEST LESS ORDINARY?
This isn't just a music festival—it's one of our biggest fundraisers of the year.
100% of proceeds from A Fest Less Ordinary benefit A Farm Less Ordinary, a Purcellville nonprofit providing meaningful employment for adults with intellectual, developmental, and cognitive disabilities.
Adults with disabilities face unemployment rates as high as 80%. Our Growers are changing that story. They earn real wages doing real work—harvesting produce, nurturing plants, crafting jams and pickles, and building skills that last a lifetime.
When you buy a ticket, you're not just getting a great day out. You're funding jobs. You're building community. You're growing opportunities.
Musicians Scheduled to Perform
The Plate Scrapers
+ More artists to be announced!
Live music runs from noon to 7 PM with rotating sets all day long
The Plate Scrapers are born from the tradition of Bluegrass jams and potlucks -- Derek Kretzer (banjo), Andrew Jordan (guitar), Robbie Mann (fiddle), Jody Mosser (dobro), and Kevin Johnson (bass) -- have been putting in the work and showcasing their love for the genre since 2014. They’ve provided direct support for bluegrass legends such as The Seldom Scene, Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen, and Larry Keel, and they’re not afraid to get weird at late night festivals. The Plate Scrapers are known for a versatile performance style that balances hard-driving bluegrass favorites with heart-wrenching country ballads and thoughtful folk lyricism, fueled by a creative chemistry.
Justin Trawick and The Common Good are a touring Americana group from DC performing together since 2006. Using traditional instrumentation, they blend bluegrass, country, folk, and old-time music into a modern sound. They've opened for/shared the stage with notable acts like The Wallflowers, Suzanne Vega, Wyclef Jean, Brett Dennen, Blues Traveler, Dr. Dogg and The Avett Brothers, and performed at major festivals including TedxEast NYC, Floyd Yoga Jam, Wolf Trap, and the Appaloosa Roots Music Festival.
Black Masala, a Brassy Washington DC-based outfit, is part of the new generation of go-anywhere brass bands, seamlessly blending New Orleans second-line, Romany brass, Bhangra, and funk into a cohesive sound. Known for their high-energy live shows and rock-infused drive, the group delivers wild, unpredictable performances that compel audiences to dance. Their original music pushes genre boundaries, weaving together fantastical tales of powerful women, raucous nights, and life on the road without being tied to a single style. Ultimately, Black Masala offers an unorthodox and creative experience that celebrates the universal, party-starting power of brass.
The Woodshedders are based in Harper’s Ferry, WV, bring a spirited and eclectic energy to the modern roots music scene. Their sound is an infectious blend of vintage Gypsy jazz, old-time bluegrass, and honky-tonk, all delivered with rock star swagger. Known for their ability to whip festival crowds into a dancing frenzy, they seamlessly merge virtuosic acoustic picking with catchy, original songwriting that feels both nostalgic and contemporary. Whether performing at premier events like the Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion or intimate club dates, this outfit continues to carve out a unique niche that bridges the gap between traditional Appalachian sounds and upbeat Americana.
